Finley's belly button is not cute - it sticks out like there's a marble behind it; so Dr. Peterson made a housecall this weekend (OK, he came for Finley's baptism and as always I hit him up with medical questions). Bob called it a herniated umbilical cord and it will go in by 6 months to one year of age. In the "olden days" moms would put a quarter on the belly button and tape it down to push it back in, we decided to just give it time!
It's amazing what you can get done before a party (or a baptism) at your house. Patrick finished painting the nursery this week and hung pictures in both the nursery and hallway. If you are familiar with our house, the hallway pictures are across from the dining room, headed towards the master suite.
The nursery turned out great! I'm sure there will be some add-ons as we go, but its super-cute!
Last Monday we stopped to visit Great Grandma Market, she thinks Finley is getting sooo big!
Finley made a big discovery this week - his hands! This is a huge step in his ability to self soothe which will help as he sleeps longer stretches...like through the night (not yet). Finley continues to go down well, he'll lay quietly until he falls asleep. Once in a while when his paci falls out he'll yell for mom to put it back...and I do.
We are working on holding a rattle :)Friday night we went out for dinner and bumped into Finley's babysitter, Stephanie, and her husband Marc. I told Finley to be on his best behavior - he was!
Check out Finley's loafers...yes, its a bad picture of a slouched-baby-propped-up-on-the-couch-that-fell-asleep in the car...but aren't his shoes cute?!
Finley is finally fitting into size 0-3 which means...BIG boy clothes! Isn't he handsome??
It's comparison time again...Big Cousin Spencer and Little Cousin Finley! It took two tries to get the picture, Spencer was very interested in checking Finley out.

Looks like you had a perfect day :) How special that he could wear the outfit that's been in your family!
