Spring break kicked off at 2 am, we had a 7:00 flight out of Minneapolis. At the airport, Grandma & Grandpa gave Finley & Spencer early birthday gifts...mini iPads! A trip to Cancun that starts with mini iPads, I'll say it right now - we are horribly spoiled.
We dominated first class.
The flight crew was incredibly nice, they welcomed the kids for a pre-flight check in the cockpit. The pilot acknowledged the "very special guests" (complete with their names) on his opening flight announcements.
Since Finley got a new mini iPad....
...Hadley got his old iPad (technically a Kindle Fire, but to her, it's all My iPad!).
Inflight entertainment included electronics, food, games, candy and swapping seats.
One gave up.
No carseats, no seatbelts, all smiles!
When you leave home super-early, you arrive in time for lunch...
...and swimming.
Finley's swimming was SO impressive! Our scared-of-water-in-his-face-kid was a fish swimming underwater and floating on his belly!
Grandpa has the magic walk - passed out.
After a long day, dinner was in.
Nolan was incredibly sneaky (or not) stealing cheese. He was so funny.
Dance party.
We stayed in a penthouse - room with a view? Yes!
Our first full day, they were ready.
My camera crapped-out the first day, thankfully it magically started working the next day. Some of the pictures I saved from Heidi have a goofy white edge - I'm not trying to fix it today.
OMG, she's cute.
My camera was in her face a lot.
Each day was similar - pool, beach, lunch, pool, beach, kids' activities, happy hour.
Goggle-face.
A random costume at lunch.
Pinata Party! Dancing, games and candy.
We felt brave and went out for dinner. We picked a noisy restaurant in hopes that our chaos would go unnoticed. Balloon hats, food in a boat and electronics - we survived.
The big boys went to the waterpark, the ladies (minus me) went to the spa, Grandpa & I took on the two littlest.
Auntie's girl.
Making pinatas, I'm kind of an expert.
St. Patrick's Day!
Eating ice cream is exhausting.
Bright and early, they were ready for more.
Our beloved lifeguard Mario, he remembered the kids from last year :)
Lunch break.
And back in the water.
Volleyball.
From painting faces...
...to painting pottery.
Crashed.
Oh Easton, you love to hate me. Someday, you'll love to love me (I hope). And if not, I'll remind you of the time I saved your life. I pulled you out from underwater and you told me to Stop it!
Fiesta Night at Grandpa & Grandma's! Only Grandma would pack decorations in her suitcase.
Gangham Style doesn't get old.
Ready for an excursion!
Hadley would be OK if Mike & Suzie adopted her. She adores Peter & Simon.
Little boats!
Back to the pool for games.
These two loved the edge of the pool.
Beachin' it.
...and were showing off their 'twinness' with the same moves.
More of the same, everyone walking by commented on the twins.
Sangria for me, cheetos for her.
Patrick & Peter got a bird's eye view of Cancun.
Showing off her swimsuit and hat from Suzie.
Boogie Boards!
Being stalked by me and my camera.
Grandpa & Grandma offered to keep the kids and allow everyone else a kid-free dinner.
Simon had a sleepover with us.
The kids had professional pictures taken (in a post below).
Since they were dressed up, we went out for dinner.
Bottom's up!
Time for a dip.
Pirate Treasure Hunt!
Water balloon fight and tug-of-war!
Vacay is hard work.
Drinks in the pool!
A final visit to the beach.
Mario found a crab-thingy for the kids.
Hadley wanted to go way out - fortunately, Peter & Uncle Ryan obliged her requests.
Burying his feet...
...burying her.
Spencer turned 6!
Before we knew it, we were packed up to go home.
Only on vacay do we pass-the-pop.
They were over pictures.
Waiting.
Our ride home.
And we finished where we started. THANK YOU to my parents for taking us all to Mexico. We are incredibly fortunate that you provide these experiences for us and the kids. We love you.
