Finley & Patrick attended Cub World w/ Finley's pack, it was a two-night stay at the Cub Scout Camp.
Finley's at/nearing the age many kids go to week-long overnight camp and he's sooo not ready. I told him next year maybe he'd go w/o Patrick and he told me that Patrick can go until he's in 6th grade 😂
But seriously, could his smile be any bigger in these pictures?! He loves camp.
First up was the swim test - Finley easily passed the biggest test and could swim anywhere. Patrick skipped the swimming test - which meant he could not canoe alone - not that he wanted to, but Finley had to go w/ him because a "swimmer" was required in each canoe.
They are only at camp for two full days, but each minute is filled, I received so many pictures of fun activities - knots, obstacle course, rock wall climb, whittling and more.
No idea, but ick.
Finley earned his whittling patch, he got an award for finding the most marbles (again, no idea), and received a trophy for being camp's Top Shooter w/ a BB gun (awesome). He is such a happy Cub Scout.
... and again at afternoon at 4.
While Finley was at camp, Hadley had a full day w/ Allie. They split their time between their house and ours. I've said it before, but little girl playdates are soooo nice and easy.
It took until August, but we finally went to the pool. Our days have either been busy or it's been rainy. We brought along Henri and met up w/ Allie and family...because we've hit the stage where my kids pretty much need friends or it's not fun.
Allie's mom has her hands full w/ two older girls, a toddler and a baby - the baby was my job at the pool.
And it begins, boys chase girls.
Hadley's been kipping it up, she was excited they got to try out the big bars.
We have a month to go yet, but school supplies are bought. New supplies make me happy, so I'm not sure why shopping for them w/ the kids stresses me out.
Hadley made it her job to sharpen 72 pencils - it took her three days but she listened to music and every single pencil is ready for school.
Getting our signs ready, I cannot believe my baby is going into 1st grade!
Our runs are getting longer, we got in 19 and have 20 tomorrow. My route found us in the middle of road construction. I was confident we could just hop through, unfortunately one foot got sucked into a mud hole. So I ran the last 16 miles w/ one wet foot.
Finley had his final tourney w/ the Valley Stars, summer ball is officially over. It was nearby and they played three games. They ended 1-2, but it was a fun weekend w/ good temps for baseball.
Finley had a good hit and the other team overthrew the ball, so Ryan wanted him to run to second...
...but he tripped on first base and rolled. No injury, a few laughs from us, and he made it safely back to first base.
The best part - Spencer & Easton played in the same tourney!
We got to see Easton score his first run!
Carol came to watch too.
Hanging w/ cousins between games.
Good job Finley! It was a fun spring and summer full of baseball, just a few weeks and fall-ball will start!
This week is VBS and Spencer is here too.
They spent the first couple nights at our house and now they've moved to Grandma's for two nights. She took them to a baseball clinic.
Lots of playing together.
Faith & I took our annual tubing trip - it was prefect weather and we got all caught up.
