Tuesday we had a playdate at the mall; we met up with Tara & Jake, Gina & Bella and their newest addition, Ellianna. It was really busy! Bella and Jake were hard to keep up with, Ellianna slept the whole time and Finley hung out on the bench with the moms. It was fun to catch up with the ladies, although we didn't talk too much because everyone was chasing kids! At least we got to see one another :)
Finley started dancing; he officially bops to music! Finley's musical table is a great place to practice his skills; he really laughs when Mommy sings along with the ABC's in Espanol! I knew high school Spanish would pay off!
Finley got an early Easter gift from cousins Marcus and Frannie; a Easter book! THANK YOU Marcus and Frannie!!!
Great Auntie Dixie drove through EC on Thursday night, we went to Red Robin for dinner. Finley got his first balloon - he loved it. He'd pull on the string and bop himself in the head over and over and over, he thought it was funny!
I had Friday off of work, we did LOTS :) I started the morning with a 13.1 mile training run, while Finley visited to Grandma....
...then we did laundry together, Finley's quite the helper....
...we dyed Easter Eggs...
...and played with EVERYTHING all at once! I loved having the extra day off, just a hint of what life will be like when I'm working part-time.
Saturday we had a long-overdue Crew Get-Together; for months we've been trying to find a date, then Jill threw out a last-minute date and it worked for everyone. We headed to Hudson for burgers on the grill, snacks and ice cream sundaes. Spring is here, and it was just warm enough to start the festivities outside...
After dinner the moms and kids headed upstairs to G's playroom, what a fun place! LOTS of toys, and essentially nothing the kids can destroy. The mom's chatted (sort of) while the kids played.
Auntie showed Finley how to ride the little car...
...then she left Spencer get on too...
...then Spencer had enough and toppled Finley out of the car!!! Auntie was NOT quick enough, we'll remember this!!
The Easter Bunny came!! Finley's Easter Basket was a cute truck backpack, it'll be perfect when we visit friends or for overnights to Grandma's. The backpack was full of goodies...a bunny book, a monkey bath towel, some new toys, and sports-eggs filled with Puffs and Yogurt Melts.
After church we had Easter Brunch at the Civic Center; we were lucky to have Great Grandma Market join us for the morning. She loves her little boys!
Finley did a great job at both church and brunch, he was on his best behavior :)
There were REAL bunnies at brunch...
...and a scary Easter Bunny too!!! Finley happily sat on the lap of this scary bunny. Seriously, the costume was not-good and the "bunny's" pony-tail-goatee hung out of the bunny's chin - nice!
After brunch we headed to Grandpa & Grandma's; the Easter Bunny had been there too! He led us on a scavenger hunt all over Grandpa & Grandma's house. It started with a little blue egg...
...inside the blue egg was a clue...
...clue #1 led us to the bathroom, Finley found a bubble machine and clue #2...
...clue #3 led us to Grandpa & Grandma's shower for clue #4...
...downstairs we found clue #5 and a giant bottle of Heineken! Just kidding about the Heineken...
...clue #5 came with a dachshund watering can (seriously, where does Grandma Easter Bunny find this stuff???)...
...clue #5 brought us to the dining room for clue #6...
...clue #6 required kissing Grandma for clue #7...sorry no picture, Grandma had been taking the pictures...
...clue #7 had us go to the garage for a ...SANDBOX...
...inside the sandbox was a summer outfit and a book. Check out the title of the book, "Say Ahhh! Finley Pig"! How fun, a pig named Finley :)
HAPPY EASTER!
