Finley & Hadley's Blog: Fall is Fully Here

Our warm weather has allowed us to enjoy our favorite fall activities more comfortably. Bring on pumpkins, flu shots, homecoming, fall soccer, the pumpkin patch and my favorite fall picture (ever).

Finley went to the Pumpkin Patch with his 4K class!

Hadley's favorite food is macaroni & cheese, every noodle is consumed.

Remember this kid? Finley walked into a post and scratched his lenses. Finley without glasses - he looks so different.

These kids like to write, draw and color every night. Hadley has a goofy pencil-grasp, but she loves to write and write and write, even on the table. FYI, hairspray takes permanent marker off table tops.

Finley is (still) weird about his clothes. And recently, he has been really into brands. Nike, Puma and Under Armour are his favorites. Which is awesome (eye roll). Because it's awesome-awesome to spend $55+ on a five-year old's sweatshirt. He's gotten no better at matching either. It seems he wants expensive clothes to mix and match in horrible combos.

On this day, Finley insisted he take his shirt off for lunch, because Auntie doesn't want me to get ketchup on it. Right.

We visited Amy (Hadley's former daycare) and she had Hadley's favorite activity ready - decorating cookies!

Finley was confused, our frosting comes in a tub labeled "Pillsbury". Amy had homemade frosting in those bag-thingys with different ends on them. He had fun decorating the new way.

Hadley was bashful for about two minutes, but quickly went upstairs like she owned the place. She remembers.

The kids are ready to fight off the flu! Finley likes the nasal mist flu vaccination. I'm not sure he enjoys the actual injection, but he likes telling everyone he got a shot up his nose (boys are weird). Hadley practiced by inhaling a large sniff through her nose. But she blew out. Fearing she wouldn't sniff a full dose and be protected, I chose a traditional injection into her leg.

My kids are so messy. Everywhere. All of the time. It drives me nuts.

Grandma came over to fall-ify our front stoop.

We went to North's Homecoming parade - maybe my first ever?

The kids were ready for candy!

Grandma was in the parade, actually an escort to someone in the parade. The kids were excited to see her, but Finley was jealous he wasn't in the parade.

She tossed us candy.

My kids walked away with a bag full.

Finley's last fall soccer game, Team Zucchini will be back in the spring. He played awesome - very aggressive!

He wiped out three times but got right up - that's him on the ground with his legs in the air.

Good job Finley!

We celebrated Elise's 1st Birthday, she had a Pumpkin Patch Party - such a big girl!

Finley really likes making babies smile.

Hadley really likes cookies. And apparently Cheetos. All evening she snatched them off the plates of others. Cheeto-face too.

Elle really liked opening Elise's presents - one more year and it'll be a different story. My kids inched closer, but did OK retreating when asked...Finley has come a long way with watching gift openings.
