I do a lot of running around each week, so there were 4ish pages of scheduling notes/routines to get everyone where they needed to be - even Grandpa got sucked into helping.
The kids helped Grandpa celebrate his 65th birthday! A flashback to his 60th birthday.
You know you're a chess nerd, when you get this excited to give a chess board for a gift. After a few games, Finley shared that Grandpa should practice while he's at school 😉
The highlight of their week was going to Spencer's out-of-town hockey tournament. They watched hockey, swam, and ran around the hotel w/ all of the hockey kids.
Spencer's team took 1st place and our hockey star had two hat-tricks! We can't wait for the State Tournament next weekend!
It was our first time at an all-inclusive kid-free resort, we hit the drinks right away.
The weather was perfect.
We rotated between drinking (sometimes too much), eating (sometimes not enough), the beach, and the pool.
This didn't technically happen, but I wouldn't have been surprised if it had. We definitely have some stories that will only be brought up once/year at the annual cabin trip.
Finley would've LOVED this chess set by the pool.
It was a fun five days and we're hoping to travel w/ this group again!
Our return was marked w/ a 10 inch reality slap of snow.
The kids were excited to see us, but quickly accepted an invite to Dave & Karen's for game night (gotta love neighbors that aren't grandparents, but spoil your kids like grandchildren). Karen sent a message they were making Rice Krispie Treats. The next message was a picture of them eating straight from the pan.
I hate the mess of painting, but she was so excited and painted for over an hour. It makes her seem little when she seems so big these days.
Little Sister made a blanket fort in the living room and slept in it one night...until 3 a.m. and she was asking to crawl in bed w/ me.
Finley's Cub Scout Pack had their annual Blue & Gold Banquet w/ a Wild Wild West theme!
Grandma made the cute centerpieces.
Finley is WANTED.
The Wolf Den put on a skit, they were quietly nervous, but did well.
The kids received acknowledgments, various badges, slides, and pins for their activities/projects this year...
...Finley was pretty pumped to receive an Action City gift card for being the top seller of popcorn.
Congratulations Finley on your Wolf badge (I promise he was more excited than he looks).
On the last day of mid winter break, we had our traditional No School = Dunkin' Donuts breakfast.
The rest of our day was spent flipping between winter and spring...which is kinda what Mother Nature has been up to lately.
