Cancun!

Eleven people, including five kids ages three and under arrived at the MSP airport...

...we boarded a flight to Cancun and had a relatively smooth flight.

Our ride to the resort was weird - no car seats!

Finley spent the first day on the beach and in the pool.  It's easy to say he LOVED the beach.

While Finley was off having fun, Hadley was battling her first 24-hour flu bug.  Poor thing threw up 5-6 times and was miserable.  We snuck her down to the pool, but not even that could get a smile out of her.  She spent the first day in the room with rotating caregivers.

Exactly 24-hours later, someone was feeling better and looking adorable.

No secret that our biggest boys can fight like brothers, it appears the littlest might too ;)

We spent a full day swimming, playing, napping, getting pedicures (Hadley)....

...and then went to a pinata party!

Monday night we headed to Mike & Suzie's...

...and watched Dancing With The Stars - go Donald Driver!

We took advantage of our resort's kids' activities.  The big kids painted t-shirts...

...and played beach soccer!

Then the flu took it's second victim, Finley spent two mornings in the room.  Fortunately after long morning naps, he was able to come out in the afternoons.

Another lazy day by the pool!

After a flu-filled morning, Finley ventured out to paint a turtle!

The kids had their faces painted, meet Batman...matches his painted t-shirt :)

By the time happy hour rolled around, we were all content spending the evenings being lazy too.  We left the resort ONE time, we walked around La Isla.

 More beach time!

A lesson on sunscreen - it's crazy how that stuff works.

We celebrated Spencer's 4th birthday with a Mexican Fiesta!

 There was a dance party...

...a tiger-like animal...

...a sword-fight...

...random fun with hats and balloons...

...a pinata...

...and presents!

Finley & Spencer enjoyed wearing life jackets and exploring the big pool with a little independence.

Our (sad) attempt at a family picture on the beach, Finley wasn't having it.

So, Hadley got her picture taken with us both :)

Over the week, Finley needed a few lessons/reminders about sharing...

...sometimes the lessons worked, sometimes not.

We discovered Hadley is a pool girl.

We cheered on the WI Badgers!

 Another day at the pool!

Easton and his get-ups of hat, shades and usually a life jacket made me laugh every day.

Another kids' activity - a water balloon fight!

Hadley could sleep anywhere, even with a volleyball game going on 10 feet away.

On our last day, the boys got ready for a treasure hunt...pirate-style!

The treasure hunt led them around the resort...

...and ended with a treasure!

Nolan's face says it all, vacation is hard.

My four-some had an earlier flight, it was uneventful and the kids were PERFECT.  We got compliments on how well behaved our kids were...if they only knew ;)

It was a busy, yet very fun, week.  I wouldn't say it was a 'relaxing' vacation, but I didn't go thinking it would be.  Thank you to my parents for treating us to an entire week of fun!  Thank you to Mike, Suzie, Simon & Peter for joining us on our adventure, they were patient and wonderful with our little kids.  I wonder if they'll want to come with us next year?
