Finley has participated in Get Smart w/ the Arts since February. Get Smart is a weekly, enrichment after school club focusing on Reading & Language Arts w/ UW-Stout students as their teachers.
At their last session, his group performed a Reader's Theater of Tortoise & the Hare. It was an original version of the play and his group chose a new setting...the Boston Marathon ;)
Little Sister picked out her birthday gift...a new bike! On May 20th, we're meeting w/ the Bike Whisperer in Hudson to learn how to ride on two-wheels. Will we continue the Bike Whisperer's 100% success rate?! I hope so!
The Bees continued their winning streak 2-0, Finley had a few good hits and scored a few runs!

Each week we flip-flop between the baseball park and the soccer park. Hadley really likes soccer, she's going after the ball and scored a few goals again.
Steve was visiting town, so part of the Crew came over for dinner. A crazy coincidence that Scott's favorite animal is the African Elephant and Finley's guided reading book was all about African Elephants. So Scooter got to help w/ homework ;)
Then they face-swapped and it was oh so scary.
Hadley wanted Korina to cuddle in her bed.
Dance rehearsal for Hadley's tap/ballet recital. Picture overload from rehearsal because it is her final go w/ tap/ballet and we weren't allowed to take pictures during the recital. For next year, she had to choose between taking tap/ballet or Danz Kraze and DK won. I think she likes the pace of hip-hop and poms better.
But there is something so sweet about this teeny ballerina.
She was an adorable Doodle-Bug for tap.
Killing time between dance rehearsal and 4K = park to ourselves.
Finley has run over 16 miles in the jogging club at school. And Friday before school, he got in a full mile on the treadmill - who is this kid?! Mine ;)
My perks as a former ECASD employee - friends that work there and send me pictures! DeAnna taught w/ me and is now at our middle school, her class visited Finley's school and she sent me a selfie w/ Finley.
Hadley & I play our own version of Pictionary - we take turns drawing something and the other person has to guess what it is. It seems you win if the other person cannot guess your picture (um, that seems backwards to me, but it's what the boss says)...she couldn't figure out bat/ball and was floored that I didn't guess Talking tree w/ glasses and a blurry eye. So she wins?!
Then I drew a bee. Her next picture? A bee. And of course she...came up the idea all by myself!
Snapchat makes her look like a 14-year old Bratz doll...or whatever those dolls are w/ the really big eyes.
Friday was rainy and we were both happy that Allie was free for a last minute playdate. It's Elsa & Anna.
The Bees' winning streak came to an end, but Finley had an AWESOME pop-up catch for a third out. He was SO excited when he realized the ball was in his glove! Maybe it was his new baseball cleats?
Hadley did well in her recital, I honored the "no picture rule" so I got nothing. But I snuck a couple when they practiced the grand finale right before.
And she struck a pose on the red carpet.
After the recital Finley delivered flowers to our dancer...
...then we celebrated w/ an early dinner. She's so cute w/ her big blue eyes.
We went to Spencer's first lacrosse game. He looked soooo old!
I have no idea on the rules and I can't imagine catching/throwing a ball in basket on a stick. But it was fun to watch and we hope to get up again.
We're in the homestretch of the school year! We're looking forward to less structure and more free time to fill however we please...and for Finley, that's playing w/ the neighbors and practicing baseball.
